What does fitness mean to you? As I get older I realize age is not what I thought when it comes to limitations. No one but myself should be able to set boundaries to be put upon what I can and cannot do. I want to be a spark and trustworthy ally to anyone looking to stay as physically active and healthy as they can and look to do this through fitness and friendships.
History in fitness: Fell in love with CrossFit style/functional fitness in 2016, after stumbling across a Crossfit gym next to where I worked. I was hooked from the get go because no matter how much I conquered, there was always more to achieve. It helped push me in a safe environment surrounded by like minded people. As I became more familiar with moves, I wanted to help others as my coaches had helped me. When the pandemic hit, you could see people were willing to give up normal life, but many struggled to get away from the gym, as it was a space for them mentally and physically. I want people to see CMB as a space for them to feel safe, feel strong and feel comfortable.
What does fitness mean to you? A quote comes to mind that changed my world in 2021... "Don't just talk like you love yourself, act like it." It was my call to action. And I proudly ran with it!
History in fitness: Fell in love with CrossFit style/functional fitness in 2012, after being challenged to complete a Tough Mudder. Between the ever-changing workouts, amazing community, and growth both emotionally and physically had me hooked! Only switching gyms as I moved. Throughout the years my life changed a lot but my coaches were always there to help me grow. I owe a lot of my successes and personal growth to them. So me being able to coach is a kind of paying it forward. I absolutely love it. I want to help you reach your best, to watch you grow, to fight beside you through the hard days, right there when you fail & get back up. Stronger with every rep.

What does Fitness mean to you? Fitness means strength-training, mobility, cardiovascular, and good nutrition. Those four elements can be attained at any age, and is what we encourage at CMB Fitness. Every day is a new opportunity to work on something relative to your fitness! Women especially, should strength train to maintain bone density, increase muscle mass for optimal daily calorie burning, and help with hormone changes. At CMB, our classes contain the cardio, strength, and mobility work that is essential for everyday function.
History in fitness: I was hired to manage the weight room at Alverno college where I attended. That’s when I got my first personal training and group fitness certifications. Since then, I found my passion for coaching classes and personal training. I’ve taught Step Aerobics, Spin, Kickboxing, Yoga, Water Aerobics, HIIT, and Strength and Conditioning classes. I’ve competed in many Triathlons, obstacle course races, and weightlifting competitions and have trained athletes in those events as well. I truly enjoy bringing out the competitor in everyone. I’m motivated and rewarded by seeing the progress in my athletes. Everyone should have a goal, or an event, to work towards. My mantra is: “Compete Every Day.” I am here to encourage and guide you towards your goals.

What does fitness mean to you? I believe that EVERYONE can be physically active and can find something they enjoy. I am passionate about all ages and fitness levels being active and learning new things. Fitness helps bring people together and can form a community. It can also completely change your life, mindset, and self-esteem. My goal is to encourage others to push themselves out of their comfort zone, learn great technique to avoid injuries, and have a great time along the way. Fitness should be FUN!
History in Fitness: I’ve tried many different workouts through the years but nothing stuck until I started weightlifting in my basement about 6 years ago. I fell in love!! I came to CMB Fitness in Fall of 2022 when I was invited to a 6-week challenge and have been obsessed ever since. The encouraging group atmosphere, personal coaching, and creative workouts keep me coming back for more. My goal is to help people discover how strong they really are and experience how amazing CMB is!

What does fitness mean to you? In the past I wasn’t very focused on fitness, I have had a very active job and thought that was enough. Turning 40 I realized I could either do something and get healthier or continue down the same road of no fitness routine or watching my diet. It’s never too late to try new things and develop a new and healthier YOU!!!
History in Fitness: In the past I would run various 5k, 10k and Quarter Marathons. Back in 2020 I started out biking and rowing at home during the winter months. In 2022 my wife, Coach Katie, started working out at what became CMB and had been loving CrossFit, finally she convinced me to try a class. In the Fall of 2023 I was hooked from my first class and have been consistent at the gym 4 to 5 days a week for over a year. I love the varying workouts and huge variety of moves that we learn. Not to mention the strength training and awesome community.
